December 16 Part 1 - Point Roberts Revisited

Another quick trip to Point Roberts for gas and birding at Lighthouse Marine Park. Today featured the usual suspects. The highlights were a couple of birds close to shore catching their lunch.

It's not too often that I get male and female Harlequin ducks in close proximity.

This scoter looks hungry.

That's better!

I've seen this Bufflehead by itself the quite a few times recently, it was closer to shore than usual today. This could be a first winter male.

And last but not least, there was a sea lion close to shore.

Next stop was Vancouver to check out a rare bird sighting as detailed in the next post.
